Thacher takes second Condor League meet

The Condor League’s second cross country meet of the season featured cool temperatures and a flat course at Midland on Wednesday, which translated into very fast times.

A superior Thacher team swept the boys and girls titles for the second time this season, although the Cate girls did manage to close the gap a little bit. In another change from the first meet, Midland’s boys passed Cate to finish second.

Laguna Blanca’s boys came in fourth while unattached Providence Hall placed sixth ahead of Besant Hill and Ojai Valley School.

Spencer McAvoy recorded Cate’s top finish with a third place in 17 minutes and nine seconds.

Ben LaBarge led Providence Hall’s team with a time of 18-minutes flat.

Other Cate runners: Denali Tietjen, 5th, 20:23; Adrian Walsh, 6th, 20:27;  Charlotte Bowles, 8th, 21:21; Jamie Haight, 13th, 21:50; Kate Groetzinger, 14th, 21:53.  Boys – Bill Pomerans, 13th, 18:14; Ahmed Bou-Rabbe, 17th, 18:32, Austin Lokre, 20th, 18:38; Jason Park, 21st, 18:39.

Be great to post other times other than just Cate …I know Presidio covers only Santa Barbara but Midland and Providence and Laguna all closer than CATE mileage ,On local meet like this one ,got to be a way to include coaches pdf file, so parents /friends can check here to see results first! . Midland no fluck they got two runners back this week from injuries, that missed first including lead runner finished 4th who been running just two weeks .But article was right …a perfect day and the early morning ran packed the normal loose sand to create very fast race ..Alot of PRs especially note Thacher runner Will Callahan the counties only ALL STATE runner ran 1530something! Great job Thacher and tiny Midland (80 kids vs 225 CATE) and Providence Hall another mighty mite in couple yrs .!
