SBCC’s John Uribe and Manny Hernandez have been named football Players of the Week by the American Pacific Conference.
It’s the second offensive honor of the year for Uribe, a sophomore quarterback from Santa Barbara High, and the second straight week that Hernandez, a freshman linebacker from San Marcos High, has been recognized.
Uribe tied a school record by throwing for five touchdowns in a 35-28 win at Santa Monica. He completed 16-of-27 for 292 yards. Three of the TDs went to Art Gonzalez, who caught five balls for 140 yards.
Uribe is the No. 1 QB in the APC and third in Southern Cal, throwing for 258.2 yards a game. His 12 TDs rank fourth in the state.
