SBCC seemingly locked in third

The date and course were different for SBCC on Monday but the result was the same as the women’s golf team placed third in WSC No. 6 at Robinson Ranch in Canyon Country.

It was the third straight third-place showing and the fourth overall for the Vaqueros, who were led by Nicole Bullemer (86), Emily Wisma (88) and Nicole Denny (89).
Canyons (24-0) won its sixth straight WSC meet title with a 323. Bakersfield (15-9) was second at 335, followed by the Vaqueros (12-12) at 349.
“It was another tough course and I knew it would be tough to keep all our scores in the 80s,” said coach Chuck Melendez. “There’s a few weeks left and hopefully we can get something going.”

WSC No. 7 will take place on Monday at Riverlakes Ranch in Bakersfield. The WSC Finals (Meets 8 and 9) will be held Oct. 31-Nov. 1 at Olivas Links in Ventura and SBCC could earn a regional berth by being the lowest scoring team besides the regular-season champion..
