San Marcos freshman Shane Hauschild scored twice in the Royals’ first game on Saturday at the San Luis Obispo Tournament, the second goal being the game-winner in sudden-death overtime that clinched one of San Marcos’ two wins on the day.
The Royals defeated Atascadero 8-7 before beating the host Tigers in the second game 10-5. Cabrillo ended San Marcos’ run in the third match of the day, winning 8-4. San Marcos leaves the tournament with a 2-3 record.

Hauschild notched a pair of goals in each of the first two games while Andrew Rivera recorded at least one goal in the three matches Saturday. Tyler Lisea collected a team-high five goals on the day. Ben Battles, Spencer Kemp and James Sweeney found the scoring column in two games.
San Marcos (5-10) returns to league play on Tuesday with a home matchup against Buena.
