The season ended just when San Marcos High’s golfers found their groove.
The Royals shot their lowest score of the year and Alexandria Peretiako fired a career best in a 220-236 loss to Buena at Buenaventura Golf Course on Thursday.
“It was their lowest score by 15-20 strokes,” said Aaron Solis, who was filling in for coach Shawn Ricci. “Four girls shot personal bests.”
Among them was Peretiako, who paced the team with a 40. Also shooting their lowest scores were Melissa Jewkes (43), Alanah Padilla (47) and Carolina David (48).
The Royals (0-8) will send a couple of golfers to the Channel League Individual Championshp on Wednesday at Soule Park in Ojai.
