The San Marcos girls tennis team wrapped up an outstanding regular season with a 15-3 win over Cate, the No. 3 team in Dicision IV, on Tuesday.
“We’ve won 86% of our doubles matches on the season and a big reason is the leadership of our five seniors,” said coach Jarrod Bradley. “They’ve set the tone in practice, during matches and off the court with their dedication, preparation and enthusiasm. It’s truly been an honor coaching this team.”
Parisa Fallahi and Liz Morris improved to 45-7 on the season while Christine Pearson and Amy Ransohoff finished the regular season at 40-7. The Royals are 15-4 on the year.
Caitlin Mannix avenged a 6-4 loss to Cate’s No. 1 Mady Snider with a 6-2 win. Trailing 0-2, Mannix won six straight games.
“Caitlin made great adjustments in her first match. She returned with aggression, and served heavy first serves that drove her opponent behind the baseline,” said Bradley.
The Channel League singles tournament begins Monday at Ventura High School.
