San Marcos’ doubles teams assured the Royals a victory with a commanding sweep on Wednesday, taking San Marcos to a 14-4 non-league victory over Cate.
Parisa Fallahi and Liz Morris upped their season record to a team-best 34-6 while Christine Pearson and Amy Ransohoff kept pace at 29-7. It’s the fifth time in 14 matches San Marcos has won all nine doubles sets.
“Our doubles teams have been strong all season, but they seem to have really hit their stride the past week,” said Royals coach Jarrod Bradley. “Our serving and returning have been stellar while our net play has been dominant.”
Jordan Lund swept three sets for the Royals in singles.
“Jordan adjusted to her opponents well today,” explained Bradley. “She picked the right times to be aggressive and was patient when the play dictated. She’s really matured into a well rounded player this season.”
San Marcos(10-4) plays Buena on Thursday.
