Oscar Torres gave San Marcos a first quarter lead with a 3-yard touchdown run, only to see Oxnard’s Terrell Watson run it back at them better in a 52-19 Yellowjackets victory.
Watson found the endzone three times and amassed 169 yards on the ground. Watson scored twice in the second quarter, helping Oxnard regain a 17-7 lead mid-way through the second quarter, upped to 24-7 by halftime.
Grant Weiss took up the rushing cause in the second half, racking up 144 yards on only 10 carries. Weiss broke off long scoring runs of 36 and 66 yards.
Oxnard improves to 3-1 while the Royals fall to 1-4.
San Marcos’ Andrew Griffin completed the Royals’ scoring in the fourth quarter by finding Nick Thayer for an 11-yard touchdown completion.
