Setter Mariah Mathews and Tatiana Aquiline provided a boost off the bench Friday night as SBCC swept past Citrus 25-13, 25-17, 25-14 in a women’s volleyball match at Glendora.
Allyson Porter had 14 kills, Nicole Bergmann had 10 and Shereka Thomas seven. Bergmann hit a sizzling .714 and Thomas turned in a .462 percentage in the third straight win by the 10th-ranked Vaqueros (11-4).
Piper Obradovich had 11 digs for SBCC, which has won nine of its last 10. Mathews had 10 assists and Aquiline converted two of three kills.
“It was another great team effort and everybody got playing time,” said coach Ed Gover. “Mariah and Tatiana were superb off the bench.”
The Vaqueros will take the next 11 days off before returning to action in their WSC North opener on Oct. 12 at home against Ventura.
