Malibu was a step above Cate on Friday, dunking the Rams 16-4 in a Tri-Valley League water polo match.
Malibu, No. 3 in Div. VI, did as it wanted in the first quarter, picking apart the Rams’ defense for 11 goals in the first seven minutes. The Sharks’ defense was just as effective, shutting the Rams out until the third quarter.
Greg Cusack led Cate in scoring with two goals. Brian Warren and Blake Mackall added one each.
Cate (0-3) plays again on Wednesday at Carpinteria in another league match.
