Nicole Bullemer shot 80 on Monday, leading the SBCC women’s golf team to a third-place finish in WSC No. 5 at par-73 Marshall Canyon GC in La Verne. Emily Wisma turned in an 83 on a day when the four scoring players were all between 80 and 88.
Canyons and Glendale tied for first at 327, followed by the Vaqueros at 335. The Cougars claimed first place, based on the fifth-player tiebreaker. They’re unbeaten at 20-0 with Bakersfield second at 12-8 and the Vaqueros third (10-8).
Tammy Tanich of Glendale fired a 2-under 71 to earn medalist honors.
“There’s a lot of good teams in our conference,” said SBCC coach Chuck Melendez. “It’s more competitive than I’ve ever seen. We played pretty well, but as it’s been all year, we had some big holes that hurt us.”
SBCC travels to Robinson Ranch in Canyon Country for WSC No. 6 on Monday.
