Fallahi-Morris make the difference for Royals

Parisa Fallahi and Liz Morris were in top form on Friday, sweeping their three sets while only giving up three games to provide the game differential San Marcos needed in a 9-9 victory over San Luis Obispo.

San Marcos won the match thanks to an overall 77-71 advantage in games.

Jordan Lund and Christine Pearson paired up to sweep three more doubles sets for the Royals, who improve their record to 9-3. Senior Amy Ransohoff did not play for San Marcos because of a homecoming engagement.

“Jordan has adjusted well to doubles the past two matches,” said Royals head coach Jarrod Bradley. “Her crosscourt backhand was on today and Christine served and volleyed particularly well. The way they move together on the court, you’d never know they’ve only played five sets together.”

San Luis Obispo’s Lili Voisinet was the only singles player to win three sets. The Tigers got two more each from Abigail Will and India Hoffman while the Royals’ Caitlin Mannix claimed San Marcos’ two singles points.

San Marcos returns to Channel League play on Tuesday with a match against Santa Barbara.
