Santa Barbara stepped up its energy level and routed Ventura 25-18, 25-14, 25-6 in a Channel League girls volleyball match at JR Richards Gym on Tuesday.
“We played really well,” assistant coach Lee Carlander said. “We were looking to keep our intensity, keep the pedal to the metal for the entire match, and I think we accomplished that. We played with a lot of energy; there was no let-up all night.”
USC-bound Eve Ettinger paced a balanced Santa Barbara attack with 11 kills. Holland Crenshaw put away nine kills, Dani Rottman eight, Remi Pulice seven and Katy Villenueva five.
“It was a nice balanced attack,” Carlander said. “Leading up to the match we worked on getting the middles involved in the offense. We were pleased with how we executed the offense tonight.”
Santa Barbara improves to 13-7 and 3-1 in Channel League.
