SBCC football players Michael Douglas and Manny Hernandez have been named Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively, by the American Pacific Conference.
Douglas, a 5-9 sophomore from Pukalani, Hawaii, rushed 24 times for 123 yards and two TDs in a thrilling 26-21 comeback win over L.A. Southwest. He scored the game-winning touchdown on a 16-yard run with 1:01 to play.

Nineteen seconds earlier, Hernandez recovered a fumble at his own 12-yard line. Quarterback John Uribe hit Art Gonzalez on a 72-yard bomb, setting up Douglas’ decisive TD.
Hernandez, a 5-11 freshman from San Marcos High, had a season-high 19 tackles, including seven solo and 3.5 for loss. He ranks second in the state with 59 tackles, trailing only his teammate, Sam Shipley, who has 71.
The Vaqueros (2-3, 1-0) will travel to Santa Monica for a 6 p.m. game on Saturday.
