Nicki Brown blasted 17 kills, but Dos Pueblos couldn’t shake a pesky Buena squad in a Channel League girls volleyball match Tuesday night at Sovine Gym.
The Chargers were taken to the limit before prevailing 21-25, 25-21, 22-25, 25-20, 15-12.
“We got the win but we escaped with our tail between our legs,” DP coach Todd Garrett said. “We have a lot to work on before we play them again. Cameron (Ohl) has a very good team. Those girls played with a lot of heart.”
Back-row players Jordan Roberts and Katie Spieler combined for 20 digs to keep the Chargers in the match.
Taylor Racich dished out 26 assists.
Garrett said his team had some trouble passing the ball.
“Our service receive was very shaky, but we got better as the match went on,” said Garrett.
