Nicole Bullemer carded a 3-over-par 75 on Sunday, leading SBCC to fourth place after one round of the North-South Classic women’s golf tournament at Morro Bay Golf Course.
The Vaqueros shot 326, missing their season low by one stroke, and trail co-leaders Bakersfield and Sacramento City by just six shots in the 12-team field. Canyons is third at 321.
Bullemer, a former Dos Pueblos High standout, is in third place, one shot behind co-leaders Melea Miller of Bakersfield and Kayla Riede of Sacramento. Nicole Denny shot 82 for Santa Barbara and Anna Samson had an 83.
“We played well early, then lost some strokes late,” said SBCC coach Chuck Melendez. “We played with more confidence. We’re getting better, slowly but surely.”
The final round will take place Monday, starting at 8:30 a.m.
