A group of local products put up big numbers on Saturday to help the SBCC football team pick up a 30-14 road win over Antelope Valley. It was the Vaqueros’ first win over the Marauders since 2002.
Quarterback John Uribe, a Santa Barbara high product, went 19-for-29 with 246 passing yards and two touchdowns. His primary target was former Bishop Diego Cardinal Art Gonzalez, who had nine catches for 177 yards and a touchdown.
San Marcos High grads Sam Shipley and Manny Hernandez chipped in 12 tackles apiece and Alonzo Winn had 112 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries.
The Vaqueros had a 20-0 lead at halftime, piling up 275 yards of offense to the Marauders’ 71. SBCC (1-1) was up 27-0 at one point in the fourth quarter.

Nex Saturday, the Vaqueros return to La Playa Stadium to take on rival Ventura.
