The third WSC match wasn’t memorable for the SBCC women’s golf team.
Nicole Denny shot 85 on Monday at Oakmont CC in Glendale and the Vaqueros placed fourth in the five-team field at 351. Canyons won its third straight title with a 327.
Kurumi Ando shot 85 and Nicole Bullemer had an 88 for Santa Barbara, which is third in the WSC with a 6-6 record.
“It was another tough day, the course took its toll on us,” said coach Chuck Melendez. “We had a number of players doing very well at the start and then we had some blowup holes.
“I’m very happy with our work ethic and I still think this is a good group. Hopefully, we can turn things around and start competing.”
The Vaqueros will be at home for WSC No. 4, which is set for Monday at The Alisal River Course in Solvang.
