Alexandria Peretiako shot a 42 to share medalist honors, but San Marcos dropped its Channel League girls golf opener to Ventura, 243-259, at Buenventura Golf Course on Tuesday.
“I am very proud of the way our girls played today,” said coach Shawn Ricci. “Alexandria led our team as medalist and both Caroline David and Melissa Jewkes posted personal bests.
“The girls have been working hard and today’s scores are the result of all that work. This is our best score this year — it is a great way to open league. Hopefully we can continue to play well and make solid improvements.”
