Westmont College gave up a goal in the first 10 minutes and it all went down hill from there as the Warriors were blanked by Redlands 3-0 on Friday at Farquhar Field.
The Bulldogs came out of the gate early on when junior midfielder Fionna Connolly lofted a floater over Warrior goalkeeper Roxanne Love at the 10:21 mark.
Moments later, Redlands capitalized once again when senior defensive standout Chelsea Hafley buried a shot from the deep near side off of junior midfielder Jaimie Morton’s deflection.
Leading 2-0, the Bulldogs continued to play strong and effective defense in the second half, which included a shutout performance by sophomore goalkeeper Rachel Foreman in her first collegiate start. She collected five saves.
In the waning minutes of play, Redlands tacked on another score when senior forward Emily Birzak connected on a one-timer to the far post off of sophomore Gabi Juliano’s cross.
