Allyson Porter had 18 kills and hit .348 Tuesday night, leading SBCC to a 3-0 sweep of Canyons in a nonconference women’s volleyball match in Santa Clarita.
The 25-21, 25-22, 28-26 triumph was the fifth straight win and seventh in eight matches for the 18th-ranked Vaqueros (7-3), who’ve played all their matches on the road.
Antonia Antes produced eight kills and middle hitters Jenn Waddill and Nicole Bergmann combined for 11. Hillary Tomas had 20 digs, setter Kelsey Soos had a career-high 15 and Danielle Stewart added 13. Soos also had five aces.
SBCC overcame deficits of 21-17 and 23-21 to capture the third set.
“We’ve been playing together as a team,” noted coach Ed Gover. “We’ve been playing scrappy defense with a great attitude.”
