Dos Pueblos’ boys water polo team didn’t have any problems putting the ball in the net on Friday scoring 17 times in a 17-10 victory over Royal at the Riverside Poly Tournament.
“Our offense is just rolling,” said Chargers head coach Chris Parrish, who has his team off to a 5-0 start. “It felt like we were scoring at will. It was just disappointing that we couldn’t play a little better defense.”
Chase Racich did the most damage, collecting six goals. Derek Shoemaker contributed four goals and a team-high three steals while Kevin Cappon added three goals and four assists.
The victory moves the Chargers into Saturday’s semifinals. Dos Pueblos faces Agoura at 11 a.m. in one semifinal. The Chargers are hoping for a repeat trip to the championship match, where they lost in triple overtime to Loyola last year.
