Dos Pueblos’ girls golf team fell slightly off the pace it set Tuesday with a season low, losing out to Santa Ynez 224-238 at Alisal Ranch on Wednesday.
Windy conditions were partly to blame for the higher team score on Wednesday, as the Chargers enjoyed near perfect conditions on Tuesday at Glen Annie when shooting a 208 in a victory over Oxnard. Emily Fox and Paige Granneman carded a 38 against the Yellowjackets, which is a career-low for Granneman.
Fox earned medalist honors on Wednesday with a 40. Vanesa Villa was one stroke off at 41.
Santa Ynez’s Maddison Shean and Kristin Henno led the Pirates with matching 43s.
Dos Pueblos, which opens up Channel League play next week with matches against San Marcos and Ventura, falls to 3-2 on the season.
