Katie Spieler was a vacuum in the back row and Sarah McKinny and Bianca Castro got more work in the middle as the Dos Pueblos girls volleyball team swept Valencia 25-13, 25-18, 25-18 Tuesday night on the road.
“We focused on getting the middles more involved,” said coach Todd Garrett.
Castro had five kills and four blocks, and McKinny provided four kills and three blocks.
“We wanted get them more involved in the offense. That will helps out in the future,” said Garrett.
Tristan Racich did a good job feeding the middles. She finished with 23 assists. Sophomore setter Maddie Leiphardt came off the bench and had three assists in the third game.
Spieler carried the defensive load in the back row with 19 digs.
The Dos Pueblos girls are holding a car wash on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in front of the DMV office in Goleta.
