Dos Pueblos’ girls volleyball team rubbed shoulders with the No. 1 seed at the Archbishop Mitty Tournament late Friday night, falling in four games 25-23, 26-24, 23-25, 25-18 to La Jolla Country Day.
The Chargers defeated St. Francis earlier in the day to reach the qaurterfinals, sweeping the opening match 25-16, 25-16, 25-20.
“We played some our best volleyball so far,” said Chargers head coach Todd Garrett. “We just attacked the ball whenever we could and our defense was out of this world.”
Dos Pueblos falls into the consolation bracket, where it will face St. Mary’s on Saturday morning.
