Dos Pueblos' Michael Spiritisanto scrambles out of trouble but could not complete the pass.
Joshua Bartley and Michael Spiritosanto combined for 310 yards and four touchdowns Friday night as Dos Pueblos High beat Lompoc 45-21 in a non-league football game at Scott O’Leary Stadium.
Bartley, a 5-foot-7, 166-pound junior running back, rushed 16 times for 210 yards and scored on runs of 44 and 19 yards.
Spiritosanto, a 5-11, 190-pound senior quarterback, ran 17 times for 100 yards and scored on runs of 19 and 1 yards. He also tossed an 11-yard touchdown pass to Jordan Collins.
Dos Pueblos built up a 24-0 lead by halftime and made it 31-0 before the teams began trading touchdowns and substituting freely.
Lompoc, which lost quarterback Evan Aguilar to a knee injury late in the first half, was led by sophomore Lavon Coleman, who rushed for 128 yards and two TDs, including a 91-yard run midway into the fourth quarter.
Both teams are 2-2.

CARPINTERIA 24, SANTA YNEZ 14
The Warriors scored 24 unanswered points to pick up a dramatic road win in the 70-year-old rivalry.
Alex Rodriguez was named MVP of the game after scoring two touchdowns, the second on a 16-yard pass from quarterback Jeffrey Moorhouse with 3:22 remaining that put the game out of reach.
The defensive player of the game for the Warriors was Jacob Franco, a senior linebacker, who had a host of tackles for losses.
The Pirates scored all of their points in the first eight minutes of the game, taking a 14-0 lead into the second quarter.
Rodriguez scored on a 3-yard run with 3:48 left in the first half to make it a one-possession game at 14-7. Less than a minute later, Jordan Robinson returned an interception 48 yards for a touchdown to even things up heading into halftime.
Hans Pluma nailed a 33-yard field goal early in the fourth quarter to give the Warriors their first lead at 17-14 and Rodriguez’s second touchdown ended the night’s scoring.
The Warriors are 2-1 and the Pirates fall to 1-2.

SAN MARCOS 35, HUENEME 21
OXNARD — After building a four-touchdown lead in the first half, the Royals held on for their first win of the year.
“I have to give (Hueneme) credit,” San Marcos coach Jeff Hesselmeyer said. “It would have been easy to give up, but they came out and played hard in the second half.”
The game started auspiciously enough with back-to-back false start penalties from the Royals, who were able to rebound on their opening drive behind a strong rushing performance from running back Moses Cruz, who capped off the seven-play drive with an 8-yard touchdown run and an early 6-0 lead.
On their next drive, San Marcos quarterback Joe Rivera who ran it in from two yards out and a 14-0 advantage.
San Marcos linebacker Daniel Carreno scooped up a fumble and ran it in from 25 yards, staking the Royals to a 21-0 lead.
“Our defense made some big plays,” Hesselmeyer said, “and our offense moved the ball well. We’re really happy with how we played tonight.
An intercepted by Carreno set up the Royals fourth TD. Rivera hit big tight end Brian Shaw for a 21-yard touchdown and the 28-0 halftime margin.
RIO MESA 48, SANTA BARBARA 29
Santa Barbara High had a tough time slowing down Rio Mesa’s offense on Friday, allowing a season-high in points in a 48-29 loss.
The Spartans grabbed a 28-7 lead at halftime behind quarterback Blair Benchwick and receiver Deadere Hutchins. Benchwick finished 9-of-16 for 160 yards with touchdown passes to Hutchins and Alford Marcus.
It was also a season high in points for the Dons offense, bettering the 17 points they scored in two of their first three games. Santa Barbara ran for 114 yards as a team and quarterback Shawn Ramos connected with receiver Tanner Wrout for a touchdown in the third quarter.
Rio Mesa improves to 2-1 while Santa Barbara drops to 1-3.
