Vanesa Villa capped a big week on the golf course with her third medalist honor, leading Dos Pueblos to a 213-271 Channel League win over Ventura at Glen Annie Golf Course.
Villa shot a 1-over 36. Teammate Emily Fox was two shots back at 38.
“Vanesa struggled at the beginning of the year,” DP coach Rob Schiff said. “This week she stepped up and played solid golf. She shot 2-over for the week.”
The Chargers (5-1, 2-0) face a showdown with Santa Barbara on Tuesday, and they’ll be playing without No. 3 player Paige Granneman, who will be attending a national junior leadership conference.
“Santa Barbara is playing well and working hard, and they’re ready to take a shot at us,” Schiff said. “We have to be ready to be at our best on that day.”
