Santa Barbara moved into the semifinals of the Archbishop Mitty Tournament with two victories on Friday night, the last a 25-23, 25-16, 21-25, 25-19 decision over St. Mary’s.
The Dons, who defeated Amaly 25-8, 25-21, 25-16 in their opening match, will take on top-seeded La Jolla Country Day in Saturday’s semifinal.
Dani Rottman tallied 29 kills in the two matches and Eve Ettinger had 26 kills while posting double-digit digs in both matches. Libero Morgan Reigert recorded 12 digs and two aces against Amaly. Remi Pulice contributed nine kills in the same match. Dons coach Lee Carlander also credited Lauren Capritto with great serve-receive play at the tournament.
It is the fourth straight year the Dons have been in the semifinals.
