Santa Barbara’s boys water polo team suffered an 11-6 setback to Dana Hills on Friday, one match after the Dons defeated Rancho Buena Vista in their first game of the day at the South Coast Tournament.
The loss leaves Dons 1-2 at the event with two more matches on Saturday. The best the Dons can do is 21st place.
“We’re not playing real well,” said Dons coach Mark Walsh, who said his team lost the rythym that saw them go 3-0 last week against quality teams.
Nick Johnson and Zach Sklar put together solid games against Rancho Buena Vista. Johnson collected four goals and three assists while Sklar tallied a team-high five assists to go with two goals and three steals.
Walsh singled out his goalie Sean McGee for his work in the second match. McGee recorded 11 saves.
Santa Barbara holds a 5-3 record on the season.
