The first CIF girls tennis poll of the season was released on Monday, along with polls from boys water polo, girls volleyball and 8-man football.
The Cate girls tennis team starts out with the No. 1 ranking in D-IV while perennial power Santa Barbara High went unranked in D-I.
GIRLS TENNIS ** GIRLS VOLLEYBALL ** BOYS WATER POLO ** 8-MAN FOOTBALL
The Santa Barbara boys water polo team ought to be scratching its head after finding itself in the same position as last week. The Dons are still tied for 10th in Division I even though they were 3-0 last week, including a win over No. 7 Servite. Dos Pueblos remains locked in its No. 5 spot after a runner-up finish at the weekend’s Riverside Poly Tournament.
Santa Barbara High girls volleyball team recorded a third-place finish at the Archbishop Mitty Tournament but didn’t benefit in the Div. I-AA rankings, falling into the “other” category for the second-straight week. Laguna Blanca is No. 4 in Div. IV-AA while Carpinteria dropped out of the top-10 in Div. IV-AA.
Cate is the No. 8 team in 8-man football’s Division I.
