Dos Pueblos’ girls volleyball team took care of business in the home opener for the defending CIF champions, sweeping Newbury Park 25-13, 25-19, 25-16 at Sovine Gym.
Nicki Brown and Amanda Moriarty combined for 16 kills and only four errors to lead the way in what head coach Todd Garrett called a “total team effort.”
Jordan Roberts tallied four aces while Sarah McKinny did her damage at the net with several key blocks. Garrett also liked the digging he got from Katie Speiler and Sierra Hofstatter.
“We focused on serving tough and trying to convert every time off of free and down balls,” Garrett said. “We saw some improvement in both.”
