Denali Tietjen and Spencer McAvoy spearheaded Cate’s dominating effort at The Carpinteria Bluffs Meet on Wednesday, leading the Rams to victories over Carpinteria and Bishop Diego.
Seven of the top nine in the girls race were Rams, as were five of the top eight in the boys race. Adrian Walsh was the second of four Rams in the top five.
McAvoy posted a time of 18 minutes and 25 seconds, drawing the praise of his coach Karl Weis for the early season showing.
It was the first competition of the season for Cate, which races again on Saturday at the Brentwood Invitational.
