Carpinteria’s Lauren Taira earned medalist honors to lead the Warriors to a 296-300 victory over St. Bonaventure in a non-league girls golf match at Montecito Country Club on Tuesday.
Taira shot a 48 in the Warriors’ season-opener.
“The girls overcame nerves, soreness and for some only the second time on a golf course ever,” coach Chris Gahan said. “To have Lauren Taira shoot 48 and the medalist for the match, was a real tribute to her and all the girls’ hard work this last month of practice.”
