Diana Sleep and Makenna Hogue combined for 21 kills to power the Bishop Diego girls volleyball team to a 25-12, 25-13, 25-17 sweep over Villanova in the Frontier League opener at Ojai on Tuesday.
Sleep led the team with 11 kills while Hogue added 10. Lauren Underwood played a solid all-around match with five kills and five blocks.
“We’re playing really good volleyball right now and the girls are having a great time,” said first-year coach Erika Lilley. “We’re doing a lot of the little things well. One thing about us is we’re really scrappy. We’re getting a lot of balls off the block and doing a better job on broken plays.”
Bishop (2-0) also won the JV and freshman matches.
