Fauntleroy-Howard hold court for locals

It was a good day for out-of-town teams as they won six of the six of seven age divisions in Tuesday’s California Beach Volleyball Association Youth Tournament at East Beach.

The lone local winner was the duo of Tristan Fauntleroy and Will Howard in the Boys 14s. They defeated the Santa Barbara team of Quinn Denkersohn and Jonah Iwanga in the final.

Hayden Boehle (Manhattan Beach) and Bobby Nolan (Westchester) and locals Nathan Holmes and Baker Johnson tied for third.

The 16s and 18s divisions were won by teams from the Conejo Valley area.

Jaccob Delson of Westlake and Bradley Sakaida of Oak Park captured the 16s title by beating Erin Ensing of Valencia and Alec Schlossman of Canyon Country. Third place was shared by the teams Parker Boehle-Nick Porterfield (Los Angeles) and the Thousand Oaks combo of Jonah Seif-Ian Parson.

Travis Magorien of Agoura and Austin Kingi of Thousand Oaks beat Santa Barbara’s Gavin Trudeau and Alex Biedul for the 18s title.  The third place teams were Daniel Hedden-Zach Yinger of Santa Barbara and Eric Barber (Santa Monica)-Ben Apstein (Malibu).

Casey Levitt (Thousand Oaks) and Hannah Schuett beat out Camarillo’s Abby Beillen-Erin Skoblick to win a small Girls 18s group. Camarillo’s Jessica McLaughlin-Nicole Pompilio took third.

Alyssa Walton and Amber Hawthorne came all the way form Glendale and Granada Hills to capture the Girls under-16 title. They defeated the local team of Marina Boulanger-Bella Taron. The third place teams were Jade Fuller-Paige Waymire of Arroyo Grande and Camarillo’s Noelle Berry-Hannah Kimball.

The 14-under girls title went to Sarah Stahl (Arroyo Grande) and Christina Ozzimo (Nipomo). They outlasted locals Alexis Rottman and Dane Miller in the final. Anika Wilson and Andie Dewerd (Los Olivos) shared third place with Ariana Homayu (West Hills) and Alexandra Ardaki (Woodland Hills).

San Fernando Valley girls Isabelle Bress (Woodland Hills) and Gracee Butler (Van Nuys) defeated Santa Barbarans Chole Allen-Malia Morales to win the Girls 12-under class. The local team of Daria Leyva-Emily Phillips tied for third with Iya Lindahl-Camryn Gentry of San Diego.

The youth tournaments continue next Tuesday at East Beach.
