Former Ventura High football coach Harvey Kochel, whose strong Cougar teams included future NFL players Eric Turner and Roman Fortin, died Saturday at the age of 66, the Ventura County Star reported.
Kochel, who lived in Texas, suffered from pancreatic cancer.
Kochel’s teams went 77-35-5 in his 10 years at the helm.
His career came crashing down in 1992 when an investigation led to his arrest for having sexual relations with a 15-year-old female student. He was convicted and sentenced to two years in state prison on Jan. 20, 1993.
Memorial services have yet to be determined, but are tentatively scheduled to take place in Texas, according to the Star.
Shame on you! Not even a week after a man's death … not just any man … but my friend's Father. Mr. Kochel's family is dealing with his passing and the horrible desease that he had to fight. Maybe you could write about families dealing with this desease or where someone could donate in honor of his family(American Cancer Association). Instead of the trash you are bringing up that happened over 18 years when his family is trying to deal with his passing that happened not even a week ago. Again … shame on you!
The man was trash preying on young women
