Erica Seidman, who scored game-winning goals in UCSB’s season-opening matches over the weekend, has been named the first Big West Offensive Player of the Week.
Seidman, a senior midfielder who had scored only one goal in her UCSB career, scored early in the first half of a 2-0 win over Cal State Northridge on Friday. On Sunday, she tallied the first goal in a 2-0 victory over Cal State Bakersfield.
The UCSB women are back in action on Friday against St. Joseph’s at 5 p.m. at Harder Stadium in the first game of a doubleheader. The sixth-ranked Gaucho men take on Mexico’s Under-20 national team in the nightcap.
