If Terrell Owens doesn’t find an NFL team to join in the next couple of months, he could very well end up on the hardwood.
The controversial wide receiver suited up for the Santa Barbara Breakers in Las Vegas two weeks ago, scoring seven points with six rebounds, four steals and three assists in an 89-87 exhibition win over the Korean National Team at the Impact Basketball Arena.
Point guard Chris Reaves led all scorers with 28 in the game, as the Breakers rallied from a 70-59 third-quarter deficit against the sharp-shooting Koreans.
“It was great to battle with a very competitive team who are well coached and disciplined. They made us a better team but we are also very pleased to initiate relationships and discussed about playing more games in the future. This is just as important as winning.”
Pickering said that Owens was particularly impressive on defense. Reigning West Coast Basketball League MVP Joe Udejio added 10 points for the Breakers.
