A healthy spread of age groups turned in great performances on an absolutely gorgeous evening for Nite Moves on Wednesday.
In the 5K run, 46-year-old Michael Smith turned in a blazing time of 16:43, while 16-year-old Jacob Bartholomew was just three seconds behind. Mike Shalhoob, 30, clocked in third at 16:47 while Christine Bjelland, 24, was the fastest female at 19:49.

Thirteen-year-old Laguna Blanca student Walker Bell won the half-mile swim once again, clocking in at 12:58, and Jessica Broderick, 20, was the first female to reach the shore with a time of 13:47. Broderick went on to top the female ranks in the Aquathon (run and swim combined) in 35:14 and Goleta’s Christopher Braden, 19, was in front of everyone at 32:39.
Nite Moves takes place weekly throughout the summer at Shoreline Park.
