Isaac Rodriguez provided the best remedy for his team and himself Saturday in the opening game of the Divisional Tournament in the Little League Junior Division.
Hobbled by an injured ankle, Rodriguez came off the bench and belted a three-run homer to help rally the Dos Pueblos All-Stars to an 8-7 victory over La Mirada in Ontario.
Rodriguez added a two-run ground-rule double in the stirring comeback win.
Dos Pueblos, champions of District 63 and Section 1 tournaments, trailed by six runs in the fourth inning. But the local stars maintained their poise and battled back.
Brian Cho hit a solo homer and had two RBIs on the day and Daniel Dzierski and James Savae each collected two hits.
Brody Curtis pitched the final three innings to pick up the victory.
Dos Pueblos is back in action Monday night.
