Michael Day smashed a bases-clearing double in the second inning to help the Santa Barbara Pony Baseball Red 14-under all-stars rally to defeat North Valley 15-9 in the sectional tournament in Newbury Park.
Santa Barbara came back from a 7-2 deficit by scoring six runs in the second inning.
The Red All-Stars banged out 15 total hits in the game. Multiple hits came from, Skyler Sabado (3-5), Day (3-5), Gabe Grandcolas (3-3, two walks), Bronson Lentini (2-3), and Daniel Davis (3-4). Quinn Denkensohn hit a double in the bottom of the 6th inning and later scored on a sacrifice fly from Mario Aguilar.
Aguilar picked up the win with 5 innings of relief work.
Santa Barbara, the district runner-up, went 1-2 in the sectional.
