UCSB triathlete Zack Paris held off the kids and a former collegiate All-American to win the 1-kilometer swim at Nite Moves No. 10 at Leadbetter Beach on Wednesday evening.
Paris broke 14 minutes, clocking 13:58. John Salman, 14, was a close second in 14:01 and Adrienne Binder, an All-American at Auburn University, was third in 14:05. Walker Bell, 13, finished fourth in 14:07.
In the 5-kilometer run, Paul Bryan, 30, held off a couple of teens to win the race. Bryan finished in 17:13 followed by Jacob Bartholomew, 16, in 17:27 and Dylan Zukin, 16, in 17:32.
Norbert Hoehne of Camarillo, a Hawaii Ironman finisher, won the aquathon in 37:51. Benjamin Leinfelder finished second in 38:59 and Carl Parker was third in 39:36. Erin Laser of Belmont was the top woman and fourth overall in 39:41.
