UCSB standout Andy McGuire and Taylor Wilson won the AVP Young Guns tournament at Hermosa Beach on Sunday, beating former Santa Barbara High star Will Montgomery and Connor Hughes.
It was the first AVP Young Guns title for McGuire and Wilson. McGuire is going into his senior season at UCSB.
The second place was the best finish for Montgomery in five Young Guns events he’s played in his career. The UC Irvine sophomore took a fifth with McGuire last month in Ocean City, Md.
Westmont graduate Avery Drost and partner Chris Icaza finished in a tie for third.
