Kyle Ownsby blasted a three-run homer to get Goleta Valley South’s All-Stars off to a fast start, and the local 10-11 squad held on to get past El Segundo 9-7 in an opening game at the Little League Divisional Tournament on Saturday.
El Segundo had the tying run on base in the last inning before Goleta Valley South was able to end the game.
Blake Katsev had three hits and drove in two runs, while Carson Vom Steeg had two hits and two RBIs for Goleta Valley South, which plays again Sunday against La Verne.
