David Fischer returned to the courts he grew up on and came away a winner in the California Beach Volleyball Association Masters Tournament at East Beach on Saturday.
Fischer, who attended Santa Barbara High and has played on the AVP Tour since 1998, combined with longtime partner Jack Quinn to defeat local Scott Johnson and Alex Lynch of Ventura, 28-26, in the championship of the Men’s 37-over division.
Third place went to Peter Henze-Adriano Araujo and Kjell Nilsson-Tate Walthall.
In the 45-over division, Joe Gagnon and Greg Novak defeated Bill Yingst and Dan Salyer in the final, 28-21.
The third-place finishers were Jorge Richardson-Duke Howard and Jeff Rydberg-Dave Massey.
Jackie Campbell and Jill Davis won the Women’s 37-over tournament, beating Michelle Kobashi and Terri Willis.
A Masters 50-over tournament is scheduled for Sunday at East Beach.
