Travis Craven homered to tie the game in the third inning and Dos Pueblos erupted for three runs in the fourth en route to a 7-3 win over Ventura Coastal in the Little League District 63 11-12 Division all-star tournament on Sunday in Saticoy.
Dos Pueblos is undefeated in the double-elimination tournament.
After giving up two runs to start the game, DP came back and tied the score at 2-2 on a two-run double by Kenny O’Donnell. Peter Appel and John Wetzel scored on the play.
Ventura Coastal went back ahead 3-2 in the third before Craven belted his game-tying homer.
In the fourth, Dustin Demeter’s sacrifice fly scored O’Donnell for the go-ahead run and Luke Coffey ripped a two-run double for a 6-3 lead.
Tim Heiduk doubled and scored on a throwing error for the seventh run in the fifth inning.
The combined pitching efforts of Demeter, O’Donnell, Craven and Coffey sealed the victory.
DP takes on the winner of Tuesday’s Ventura Coastal vs. Foothill game on Wednesday, July 14 at 6 p.m. at Saticoy Little League’s field.
