Three Dos Pueblos pitchers and some solid defense shut down Foothill Little League in a 4-1 win at the District 63 11-under all-star tournament on Thursday.
Austin Bull allowed only two hits in four innings of work and Wyatt Boyle and Matt Nichols finished up as DP avenged a 13-3 loss to Foothill in pool play.
The pitchers got plenty of help from the defense. Third baseman Jake Yamasaki, second baseman Will Parker and shortstop Zach Steinberger made several tough plays to deny Foothill. Steinberger ended the game by starting a double play.
In the outfield, Sam Majewski, Jack Landis and Chris Noggle played a flawless game.
Noggle led DP’s offense with three hits, including two doubles. Nichols had two hits and a stolen base. Bull and Matt Shotwell each drove in a run. DP scratched out two other runs on a wild pitch and a passed ball.
