Dos Pueblos couldn’t hold a lead in the seventh inning and dropped a wild 14-12 decision to Thousand Oaks to force a second championship game for the Little League Section 1 Junior Division Tournament championship.
The two all-star teams will play Wednesday at 5 p.m. at Channel Islands High in Oxnard for the right to advance to the next level of postseason play.
Sparked by 3 1/3 innings of scoreless relief pitching from Joshua Tedeschi, Dos Pueblos staged a stirring comeback after trailing 11-4 in the third inning and took a 12-11 lead into the seventh inning.
But Thousand Oaks scratched out two runs in the seventh and handed DP its first loss in the tournament.
Dylan Rohde led DP’s attack with three hits. Isaac Rodriguez, Brian Cho, Tedeshi, Robert Gulvin & James Savage all had two hits.
