A Dos Pueblos rally fell short, and the local 11-12 All-Stars were eliminated by Moorpark, 6-4, in the Little League Section 1 Tournament on Monday night.
Trailing 6-2 in the fifth inning, Dos Pueblos fought back on a RBI single by Dustin Demeter and a solo home run by John Wetzel. Tim Heiduk drew a walk and Kenny O’Donnell got his second single of the night to put the tying run on base.
Moorpark made a pitching change and thwarted the DP rally.
Dos Pueblos opened the game with two runs as back-to-back singles by Heiduk and O’Donnell sdored Demeter and Luke Coffey.
Moorpark tied the score in the bottom of the first on two solo homers and took the lead in the third on a home run. It scored three times in the fourth on four hits.
Dos Pueblos won the District 63 championship. Members of the team are Peter Appel, Jose Avila, Luke Coffey, Travis Craven, Dustin Demeter, Tim Heiduk, Kenny O’Donnell, Jonathan Sloan, Peter Trapp and John Wetzel. The team is managed by Don Heiduk and coached by Dave Demeter, Brian Craven and Steve Buratto.
