Lauren Stratman claimed the Girls 18 title at the 95th Santa Barbara Summer Junior Tennis Tournament this weekend, defeating Dorothy Tang 6-3, 6-2 in the final.
Stratman, from Goleta, made the championship match by defeating doubles partner and No. 1 seed April Scatliffe in the semifinals. Stratman won in three sets for the second time of the tournament, topping Scatliffe 6-4, 0-6, 6-2. Stratman was the only unseeded player to make a title match in any of the five girls draws.

Jacob Jung bettered Sasha Gryaznov in the Boys 18 final, taking the title after a 6-2, 6-3 decision.
